Prior to the development of the Sammelbehälter, Die Post drew up a list of demands. This list was analysed by Hoza, who, based on its own experiences in the postal industry, accentuated it. Subsequently, the roll cage was developed, together with the initiator and supplier of post sorting machines. During this process, which lasted over a year, several prototypes were produced and pilot versions were trialled in test installations.
This resulted in a roll cage that differs from common measurements, being relatively narrow and particularly suitable for letter crates. By placing two sides, it is also possible to transport magazines and packages. It is significant that, despite many loose and moving parts, the roll cage can be used fully automated and trouble-free.
