Many types of vegetable roll cages cause a physical strain for truck drivers and are time-consuming when they need to be (dis)assembled. On Hoza’s initiative a foldable roll cage has been developed, which is much easier and more pleasant to handle. Result? Less absenteeism from drivers due to illness and more stops on their route.
It is difficult to make vegetable roll cages foldable, due to their functionality. Consequently, this type of cage is usually a detachable one, consisting of a steel base and two side walls that can be taken apart. In practice, drivers do not bother to remove the sides from the base, but flip the roll cage upside down and stack it on another one to save time. However, this is a dangerous way of working for both the driver and the distribution centre staff who load and unload the cages.
Another disadvantage is that when unloading, a lot of roll cages and floors get damaged when the cages drop on the floor.
